Paul Schatz – President, Heritage Capital LLC, located in Woodbridge, CT
Paul Schatz is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Heritage Capital, LLC. Prior to founding Heritage Capital in 2003, Schatz served as Chief Investment Officer for a regional firm from 1993 to 2002, specializing in equity model development and implementation. From 1991 to 1993, he worked at Cowen & Co., trading proprietary money in equities, options and futures. From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Schatz was employed by Shearson Lehman Brothers in various financial planning and trading related positions.
Schatz offers frequent market analysis for CNBC’s Closing Bell, Squawk Box, Squawk on the Street, Worldwide Exchange, Fox Business’ Markets Now, Yahoo Finance’s Breakout, Bloomberg TV, and has been quoted in the market commentary sections of the Wall Street Journal, Investors Business Daily, USA Today, Barron’s, Financial Planning, Registered Representative and Investment News Weekly. Mr. Schatz is a 1988 graduate of the University of Rochester with degrees in Political Science and Economics.
Jeff Pietsch – Managing Director, Eastsound Capital Advisors LLC, headquartered north of Seattle, WA
Jeff Pietsch, CFA has worked in the active and alternative investment industry since 2001, bringing to his position broad experience in all aspects of finance, marketing and operations. Mr. Pietsch is a recognized writer and sought after guest speaker on the topics of active portfolio management and quantitative trading system development and analysis. As Senior Investment Associate for a $100-million-plus Chicago hedge fund, he developed risk-neutral, statistical arbitrage and high-yield bond momentum strategies, as well as trade execution and cash management back-office systems.
Pietsch has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2002, holds an MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management, a JD, Commercial Law, from Northwestern University School of Law, and a BS from Cornell University.
David Moenning – Founder, Chief Investment Officer, Heritage Capital Research in Denver, CO
David Moenning is the founder of Heritage Capital Research, an independent portfolio management consulting firm. Heritage develops and manages customized portfolio solutions for financial professionals focusing on a risk-managed, multi-methodology/strategy/time-frame approach. Mr. Moenning began his investment career in 1980 and founded Heritage Capital Management – which emphasized a risk managed approach to the markets – in 1989. From 2015 through 2017 Mr. Moenning served as Chief Investment Officer for an RIA firm responsible for $1.2 billion. Mr. Moenning is Past President and Chairman of the National Association of Active Investment Managers (NAAIM), and a recognized author on the markets. Mr. Moenning is a 1980 graduate of Northern Illinois University with degrees in Economics and Computer Science.
Ted Lundgren – Managing Principal, Hg Capital Advisors of Houston, TX
Ted Lundgren has worked in the financial industry since 1991, with stints at Raymond James Financial, Kemper Securities, and Oppenheimer & Co. before founding Rhino Asset Management in 1999. In 2001 he co-founded Hg Capital Advisors to offer a broader range of financial services.
Mr. Lundgren has been past Vice President and Agenda Chair of NAAIM (National Association of Active Investment Managers) an industry organization focused on active investing. Lundgren holds BA degrees in Economics and in East Asian Cultures, with a concentration in Japanese, from Indiana University.
Len Fox – President, Scarecrow Trading, located in Minneapolis, MN
Mr. Fox’s signal strategies are consistently ranked in the top 10% relative to performance over time for their respective sectors and was rated #1 in the 1, 3, 5, and 7-year time frames by Money Manager Review in 2013. Fox holds an MBA in International Business from Regis University.
Dave Wagner – President, Active Investment Management LLC, in Chicago, IL
Dave Wagner has been active in the investment management industry for more than 25 years, founding AIM in 2008 to provide viable alternatives to the buy-and-hold discipline for the institutional community.
Mr. Wagner has been researching and applying his principles of active management since 1995. Prior to opening his own firm in 2003, Wagner was employed by major brokerage firms for 16 years. Mr. Wagner holds a BA in Mathematics from Wabash College and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
